Arctic and Antarctica

There are big differences between the two poles. First, Antarctica is much colder than the Arctic. A clear example of that is that in Antarctica there are about 2900m of ice under us while in the Arctic there are just a few feet. The second difference is about isolation. Antarctica is a continent without land, enveloped by ocean, the Arctic, in contrast, is enveloped by landmasses it causes that the Arctic is always warmer than Antarctica. On the other hand, the population in the Arctic is almost 4 million people and in Antarctica there are not citizens living there the whole year, just some visitors go to Antarctica, usually scientists, “from 1000 to 5000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent” (Penguin, 2001, p.67). Hunting, it’s another big difference, while over one million sales are killed in the Arctic, in Antarctica just some of them are killed. 

Vinaros

Vinaros, a town that sits between Catalonia and Valencia has approximately 30.000 inhabitants, it is famous for the beach, the Carnival and the prawns.  First of all, it is a town that is next to the beach, so you can be drinking a coffee or a beer watching the sea. In addition, the Carnival is important because is a big party with lots of people from everywhere, full of colour and music. The last famous feature is the prawns that are very tasty but also very expensive. In short, Vinaros is not a big city but it has some good reasons to visit it.
